Image Consultant ‒ Hair Stylist ‒ Designer
Vernon François is now one of the most sought-after hair-stylists and image consultants in the UK, working with high-profile clients such as VV Brown, Estelle, Matthew Horne and James Corden, Dame Kelly Holmes, Beverly Knight, Miquita Oliver, Victoria Silvestedt, Keyshia Cole, Javine, Mr H. (of Mr Hudson and the Library), Jaye Jacobs, Jade Ewen, Leah Charles, Melanie Fiona, Gabriella Climi, Escala, Nisha Nyar, and Speech Debelle; he is also an image consultant for Lucinda Belle Orchestra.
He styles backstage at the BAFTA and MOBO awards, and his television credits include Kitchen Sink to Catwalk as a runway coach, Real Women with Colleen Rooney, Britain's Missing Top Model on BBC 3, WAGs Boutique, My Body Hell, and has appeared in an MTV/Dell EMA advert.
His journey to the top has been colourful, just like his naturally flame red hair. One of five boys, he was born and raised in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. At the age of seventeen he started work at the Desmond Murray salon and went on to win awards including Black Beauty Newcomer of the Year, Black Hair Junior Hairstylist of the Year, and the Learning Skills Council Apprentice of the Year.
In spite of being in demand in Paris, New York, Oslo, Amsterdam and Prague, Vernon still has a loyal group of private clients whose hair he tends to in a prestigious salon in Mayfair, and his work can be seen in Cosmopolitan, So'Chic!, iD, InStyle, and the ES magazine.
With this great success, Vernon has been able to branch out into more wide ranging projects, particularly in the art and media industries. He is also looking at some projects in the world of design, where he will take his radical and innovative approach and sense of style to an exciting new business idea.
Vernon has been heavily influenced by his Caribbean heritage, coupled with natural artistic flare, and a thorough business and technical grounding. He greatly admires the work of Vidal Sassoon and Patrick Cameron, because of their emphasis on clean lines and a well-structured look, and it is combining these ideas with his own natural creativity that he has come up with the concept of being "casually fabulous". His idea is that everyone should look fabulous in a natural way that works for them, rather than being a slave to current trends and fashions: Vernon François makes style effortless.
